2023: DPV Holds Emergency Meeting, Says No One Can Stop Oborevwori

Over the weekend, the most formidable political pressure group in Delta State, Delta Political Vanguard, DPV held an emergency meeting to intimate its coordinators and leaders of the group the current situation of the party and its gubernatorial candidate, Rt Hon Francis Sheriff Oborevwori at Asaba, saying no one can stop the ‘Sherrification Agenda.’

A lot of dignitaries, party members and political heavyweights from the three senatorial districts were present at the venue of the meeting.

DPV Chairman in his speech encouraged members to be committed and steadfast as litigations are part of the electoral process.

In a statement issued to its members, he said “This is to send a clear signal to our party the People’s Democratic party that the sherrification agenda is a movement nobody can obstruct and anybody that attempt to do so will fail woefully.

He said: “You Know where I and the Delta Political Vanguard stand on this matter , it is clear that we are with our brother, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, the irremovable Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, delivering him as the next Executive Governor is a sacred responsibility which we must emphasis with every sense of Patriotism, commitment and sincerity.”

He also thanked former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for supporting Delta’s amiable Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate and promised that Delta PDP will deliver 100% during the election

Chief Askia Ogieh who also addressed the group and party members informed the house that delegates elected Rt Hon Francis Sheriff Oborevwori during the primaries and it remains the wish of men and God .

He further reiterated the fact that electability of the candidate and how the candidate can be appreciated, valued and trusted by all tendencies was a critical factor that was considered during the gubernatorial primaries.

In the same vein, Hon Asupa Fortefa and Mrs Joan Onyeamaechi Mrakoor also spoke in the same vein.

They encouraged party members to be steadfast and committed and assured them that Oborevwori will come out clean and victorious despite “the present defective court judgement paraded in the media space.”

According to both speakers, “We will do everything we can to make sure that this party becomes victorious come 2023. We will work morning and afternoon, we will work in the night, we will work round the clock. We have done it before and we will do it again while stressing the fact that Delta state is PDP.”

They called on Deltans not to be deceived by the ruling APC the way they deceived Nigerians at the centre.

They equally expressed concern over the high cost of living, insecurity , ethnicity, poverty, cluelessness, banditry and terrorism which are threatening the very existence of the country and called on Deltans to vote the APC out of the state and Nigeria.

According to the DPV Media Coordinator, Sanco Ese, those in attendance also include the Chief of staff to the Governor of Delta state, Sen Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Rt Hon Ovie Agas, Olorogun John Oguma, Madam Angwayii, past and sitting commissioners, members of the Delta State House of Assembly, Board members, head of government parastatals, SSA, Special Advisers and people from various walks of life who came to show solidarity to the group and the aspiration of Rt Hon Francis Sheriff Oborevwori.
