Delta To Hold Monthly Environmental Sanitation On Saturday
……..Set To Constitute Sanitation Mobile Court For Defaulters

Dleta State Government through the Ministry of Environment in collaboration with State Taskforce On Environment and other relevant agencies on Friday September 23 has announced her readiness to hold monthly environmental sanitation exercise by Saturday September 24, 2022 from 7am to 10am
This special announcement was made through media houses, online publications, public address system and door to door announcement in the different local government areas in Warri, Uvwie, Okpe and Udu.
The State Commissioner for Environment, Chief Godspower Omafuvwe Asiuwhu (JP) said that the exercise was meant to ensure the cleanliness of the neighborhoods, streets, and towns across the state and clean the state from all poor sanitation-related diseases.

“During this period, there would be no movement of persons and vehicles in and out of the state except those on essential services.
“Residents are strongly advised to stay at home to observe the exercise by cleaning their living and business premises to avoid being arrested and prosecuted by the Sanitation Mobile Courts”.
He stressed that measures to ensure compliance have been put in place as relevant agencies have been instructed to arrest defaulters, who would be arraigned immediately before the sanitation constituted mobile courts
The Chairman, State Taskforce On Environment, Mr. Sylvester Oromoni, said the taskforce will be on ground to enforce strict complaince of the exercise and violators would be sanctioned.
In the Chairman’s speech “No one will say he or she is not aware of the sanitation exercise that will take place tomorrow 24th of September because his team (taskforce) has taken out time to inform the different local government areas”.
He continued; “Anyone caught violating the Environmental sanitation law will be sanctioned.”
“To be for-warned is to be for-armed” he added.
