Waive Leads First Term HoRs Members In Bill Sponsorship

As the 9th House of Representatives approaches the final seven months of Its life span in the Fourth Republic, a non-governmental organization, Order Paper Advocacy Initiative, has released an independent appraisal of legislators in the House of Representatives, with Hon Francis Ejiroghene Waive of the Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency, taking the first position among first term members of the House across the country with 38 Bills.
The House of Representatives with 360 members across Nigeria has over 180 members as first term members among whom Hon Francis Waive has registered 38 Bills to his name in just three and a half years in the House to register his name in gold among best performing House members.

However, for the entire House comprising both returning and first term members, Chairman of the land transport committee, Hon. Tajudeen Abass representing Zaria federal constituency of Kaduna state emerged the highest sponsor of Bills with 74 Bills to his name.
The report, which was made public on Wednesday in the House of Representatives was prepared in conjunction with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the Strengthening Civic Advocacy and Local Engagement (SCALE) project by Paladium.

The appraisal report was unveiled by the chief whip, Hon. Mohammed Monguno, deputy minority leader, Hon. Toby Okechukwu, former chairman of the committee on climate change, Hon. Samuel Onuigbo and other lawmakers.
