The Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) has assured its customers in Edo, Delta, Ekiti and Ondo of adequate power supply as they get prepared to pay electricity bills.

This assurance was disclosed by the new Managing Director/ Chief Executive Director, BEDC, Dr. Henry Ajagbawa while having an interactive session with payment partners in Benin City.

Dr. Henry Ajagbawa who informed the stàkeholders of BEDC recent engagement of 11 Agregators that had been assigned to come up with 10,000 agents to serve customers across BEDC franchise states to pay for services provided and also be able to recover funds from electricity coñsumers.

According to him, most consumers had often attributed inability to pay electricity bills to non agents in their areas , which was as a result of BEDC having just one Agregator with 1,650 billings and payment agents before now.

“One of the pivot of BEDC is the ability to bill our customers after we have provided our services and our ability to collect our funds after we have billed our customers”.

“We have told ourselves that we will push electricity to the rural areas and in doing so, we are going to engage with them on how to pay through our agency expansion programme”.
