2023: UNIBEN Announces Closure For Elections
Vice-Chancellor of University of Benin, Prof. Lilian Salami, has directed the closure of the institution for academic activities for 2023 general elections.
The institution’s Registrar, Mr Ademola Bobola, announced this in a notice obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Benin.
Bobola said that the university would close from Feb. 22 to March 14, in compliance with the Federal Government’s directive through National Universities Commission.

The registrar, who said that normal academic activities would resume on March 15, also directed all the students resident on campus to vacate their hostels latest 12 noon on Feb. 22.
He quoted the vice-chancellor and the university management as enjoining students to conduct themselves peacefully during the period of the general elections and wishing them safe travels all through.
