Cooperate With New Excos, Agbajor Charges Sapele NUJ Members

Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Sapele Chapel, Delta State, Comrade Nelson Agbajor, has called on members of the Union to cooperate with the new executive members.

Agbajor gave this charge on Monday in Sapele during the first Chapel Congress under his administration.

According to him, elections are over and it is time for members to unite and contribute their quota to move the chapel forward.

During the congress attended by excos and members from and beyond Sapele, he said that many projects will be carried out under him, saying that he prefers to keep the would-be projects a secret.

In his words: “Rest assured that there are special projects we will carry out.”

Adding: “Sapele NUJ will organize a Press Week later this year where awards will be presented to distinguished Deltans alongside other line-up of events.”

He also hinted on plans to hold a Thanksgiving Service at Overflow Chapel, Sapele, stating that there is need to appreciate God for the successful election, smooth handover to the new executive and to seek the face of God to enable the new leadership succeed, just as he tasked members on purchasing the special outfit chosen to be worn during the occasion to hold soon.

He continued: “We have paused paying courtesy visits for the now till after the inauguration of the new Governor of the state. Everyone we intend to visit seem to be focused on that now.”

Meanwhile, he tasked members on professionalism, urging those yet to study journalism related courses in higher institutions to do so to avoid becoming victims of a new policy soon to be announced that will rid the union of unqualified members.
