Tinubu: We Can Disagree With Pastor Adeboye Without Being Rude –Reno Omokri
By Daniel Dafe
Former presidential aide and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Reno Omokri, has called on critics of the General Overseer to be careful not to continue in the path of disrespecting the cleric, saying people can disagree with him without being rude.
Omokri tweeted on Tuesday following the reactions of some of those that believe Peter Obi won the presidential election and did not spare Adeboye over statements credited to one of his pastors that called on the president -elect, Bola Tinubu to fix Nigeria.

During the monthly thanksgiving service at the RCCG Headquarters, Throne of Grace, Ebute-Metta, Adeboye, who was represented by the Pastor in Charge of Region One, who also doubles as Special Assistant to the General Overseer (Administration), Pastor Dele Balogun, said that there could not be a better time for Nigerians to experience their own set time of the country than now after many years of suffering and enslavement.
“Let us pray for the incoming government that God will support it and give it the Grace to do the right thing.
“Thank God the President-elect has promised to fix Nigeria. If God helps him, Nigeria will prosper in his hands,” he said.
Reactions have since followed this which many ‘Obidients’ believe to be an endorsement of Tinubu and thus unleashed insults on the reverted Pastor.
But, Omokri warned against deprecating God in the process by calling him a ‘man of god’.
His tweet added: “Pastor Adeboye would have prayed that same prayer for anyone declared President-elect by INEC. It is not an endorsement of Tinubu. It is an endorsement of God’s sovereignty over Nigeria. And he did not even say it himself. Those were the words of his representative, who may not have even cleared them with him first. Even Muslims, who do not share his faith, have never disrespected Pastor Adeboye the way some people who say they are Christians are doing. These guys almost validate the Muslim-Muslim ticket because how do you give power to people who are so eager to insult elders of their own faith?”
He continued: “Especially coming from people who have not contributed even a fraction of what he has contributed to Nigeria. Insults did not win the elections for anybody, and they will certainly not win the election petition for anybody. It is possible to disagree with Pastor Adeboye without being rude.
“Oya, insult me too!”
