BREAKING: 10th NASS: APC Endorses Akpabio For Senate President, Tajudeen For Speaker

The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress( APC) on Monday said that considering reports of consultations and meetings held with the presidential elect, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, other party leaders and stakeholders on zoning arrangements for 10th National Assembly leadership positions, the party has zoned the position of Senate President to Senator Godswill Akpabio from the South South region.
The party in a statement on Monday signed by Barr. Felix Morka, National Publicity Secretary, zoned the Deputy Senate President to the North West- Senator Barau Jubrin from Kano and Speaker, House of Representatives to the North West – Hon. Abass Tajudeen from Kaduna for the said position.

The position of Deputy Speaker was zoned to the South East- Hon. Ben Kalu (Abia).
“The NWC noted with respect the outcome of the meetings held between the president-elect and the leadership of the NWC. The NWC called for further and better consultation with necessary stakeholders in order to assure the support of the aspirants to the National Assembly leadership positions and members of the party nationwide,’ the party said.
APC urged party leaders, members and all Nigerians to continue to work for peace and progress of the country during and beyond the current period of leadership transition.
