Gunmen Murder Imo Monarch, Eze Nnamdi
The traditional ruler of Ezuhu Umuamadi Nguru Autonomous Community in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, Eze James Nnamdi (Mirioma), who crowned former President Muhammadu Buhari “Ogbuagu” and gave traditional titles to Governor Hope Uzodinma, on Monday was gruesomely murdered at his home in Aboh Mbaise LGA, Imo State by unidentified gunmen.
This killing of a traditional ruler by unidentified gunmen in Imo, have created a serious tension in the state.
The gunmen are said to have driven into his palace in Nguru with a Siena Vehicle on Monday afternoon.
A community source who pleaded anonymity, revealed that the gunmen came around 15:00 hours of the day, took the traditional ruler outside his palace and shot him to death.

“The monarch was preparing to have meeting with some of his kinsmen before the arrival of the gunmen who took him out from the palace and shot him severally till he died, before he was taken to the hospital where he was confirmed dead,” the source said.
The spokesperson of Imo State Police command, ASP Henry Okoye who confirmed the incident said that investigation to fish out those behind the killing of the Mbaise monarch is ongoing.
ASP, Okoye’s statement read in full; “The Commissioner of Police, Imo State, CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde psc(+) has condemned in totality the gruesome murder of Eze Mmirioma, a Traditional Ruler in Aboh Mbaise who died while receiving medical attention at Ndubuisi Hospital after been shot severally in his house today by gunmen and has set up a high powered investigating team to investigate this case and ensure that the perpetrators of this dastardly act are arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.”
