NDDC: Delta RNYF Backs Calls For Removal Of NDDC Sole Administrator, Ogbuku

The Delta State Chapter of Rescue Nigeria Youth Foundation (RNYF) has thrown its weight behind the call earlier made by its National president, Chief Navy Stephen for the immediate removal of the Sole Administrator, Managing Director (MD), Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Dr. Samuel Ogbuku by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

This was made known by its State chairman, Chief Godstime Oke Ohwojeheri during an enlarged meeting of the state chapter held at Le millionth Hotel 3, Iseleuku St, off, Benin/Onitsha Express Way Summit Junction in Asaba, the state capital, recently.

“We the Delta State Chapter of RNYF, are fully in support of the call for the removal of the sole Administrator MD, NDDC Dr. Samuel Ogbuku,” adding that Mr. Ogbuku has bitten more than he can chew as a leader.

He continued: “His misconduct has become unbearable to the youths of the Niger Delta Region and it is time to ensure he leaves the agency, and be substituted with a better hand who will work according to the directives of the commission for development of the youths of the region”

However, in a statement signed by Chief Godstime Oke and made available to newsmen by the Delta State secretary of RNYF, Amb. Emuakpoje Peters (JP), after the enlarged meeting states that, “The continous stay of the sole administrator, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku in office is another issue that is not in favour of the people of Niger Delta as it amounts to a huge waste of the commission’s resources whose aim is to ensure quality representation of the commission in terms of empowerment of the youths of the region.”

“Another major function of the commission whose aim is to ensure that the youths of the region are being carried along in the scheme of things is now neglected by the so called Dr. Ogbuku and serving the personal interest of some elites beyond the regional boundary of the region.”

The document also reads in part, “Suffice it to say that, the most unwanted side of it is that, the policy of engaging 1000 youths in each of the Niger Delta States for empowerment is a total failure and scam on the part of the Sole Administrator as no proper modalities and criterias for the beneficiaries which is a testimony that the sole administrator has failed woefully.

“And a critical look at the region, the objectives of the youths for employment and empowerment was defeated as corruption has become the order of the day in the commission which has not been tackled by the sole administrator and this indicates the worse practice being carried out by the commission in the past years.”

The Chairman also called on the Federal government to critically evaluate the commission on the youths empowerment programmes and the registration process which was designed by the sole administrator to disenfranchise many qualified youths of the region.

Chief Godstime also used the medium to draw the attention of the Senate president, His Excellency Godswill Obot Akpabio and the Speaker, Tajudeem Abbas to intervene on the continuous shortchanging of the Niger Delta people by the NDDC Sole administrator, adding that the people of the region vehemently supported President Ahmed Bola Tinubu by voting for him in the just concluded general elections with proof which produced him as the President today.

Chief Godstime who is one of the leaders of APC in the Delta Central of the Niger Delta Region, however, called on other relevant stakeholders of the region to as well queue behind the affirmation of the immediate removal of the NDDC Sole administrator MD, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku for lack of proper functioning of the commission for the benefit of the youths of Niger Delta Region.
