NUJ Inaugurates New Chapel In Agbor

The National President of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Chris Isiguzo ably represented by the Delta Chairman of the union (NUJ), Comrade Michael Ikeogwu, has inaugurated a new Chapel named ‘GRASSROOTS OBSERVER CHAPEL’ with its Chapel office at Ika South LGC Secretariat, Agbor, Delta State, on Wednesday 19th of July 2023.
The Delta State NUJ Chairman said the inauguration was necessitated by an application written by a very qualified journalist who has a monthly newspaper publication and online medium to the National president of the Union through the Delta State Union of Journalists on the need for them to have their own Chapel.
Following the application, the President setup a screening committee to verify according to the Union Constitution if they are qualified to be a chapel and by it was approved by the President of the Union who also directed the Union’s executive in Delta to inaugurate the chapel.

According to the boss of Delta state NUJ, “This is a mighty achievement to me since this is the first Chapel to be inaugurated since the inception of my administration.”
He advised the Chapel to take seriously the newspaper monthly publication and the online medium to keep the Chapel ahead of others.
Immediately after the inauguration, the Chairman also inaugurated the Executives of the Chapel according to NUJ Constitution.
The inaugurated Chapel Executive include; Comrade Chris Mosindi, Chairman, Comrade Okoh Godwin Eziokwu, Vice Chairman, Comrade Ajuwa Ufuoma Millicent, Secretary, Comrade Kingsley Ebolosue, Assistant Secretary and Comrade Olise Cordelia, Financial Secretary.
Other Executive Officers include Comrade Ewoma Jolly Okweri, Treasurer as well as Comrade Ruth Nanaghan as Auditor.
The Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Chris Mosindi on behalf of the EXCO, thanked the National President, State NUJ Chairman and his EXCO, Lady Joy Mordi, the Chapel General Coordinator and Comrade Shepherd Ikpibako, Assistant Coordinator for their efforts towards the success of the inauguration of the new Chapel.
Present at the inauguration of the Chapel are, the Vice Chairman, Delta NUJ, Salvation Ogono, the State NUJ Secretary, Comrade Ochei Patrick, the Auditor, Comrade Afokoba Celestine as well as Chairman of Ika Correspondents’ Chapel, Christian Ogor.
