Delta: Schools Resume Monday, To Write Resumption Test Thursday

All Public and Private Primary and Secondary Schools in Delta State will resume the first term academic activities on Monday, September 11, 2023.
A statement from the Permanent Secretary in the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr Augustine Oghoro, on behalf of the two Commissioners in charge of the Ministry, urged teachers to commence teaching immediately after the classrooms had been cleaned by learners.
The statement advised parents and guardians to get their children and wards ready for resumption in the first term of the 2023/2024 academic year, and restated the state government’s commitment to ensure effective implementation of the academic calendar.
Oghoro in the statement said that resumption test would be conducted for learners on Thursday, September 14, adding that there was the urgent need for the teachers and the learners to resume on September 11, 2023 to enable the learners write the resumption test.
The statement further noted that the two Commissioners in the Ministry and the Permanent Secretary would lead staff of the Ministry to monitor the level of compliance of teachers and learners.
It also directed all the Chief Inspectors of Education (CIEs) in the 25 Local Government Areas of the state to monitor the compliance.
The statement explained that the Ministry would discipline any teacher who failed to comply with the directives to resume and begin classes.
