A former federal lawmaker and social critic, Senator Shehu Sani, has said that “there is nothing wrong with appointing a 24 year old to head FERMA.”
Recall that President Bola Tinubu appointed Imam Ibrahim, son of politician, Kashim Imam, who graduated with first class from Brighton University in UK in 2021 and had his compulsory NYSC in 2022, as Chairman, Board of FERMA, the Federal Government agency responsible for road construction.
While some Nigerians hailed the president for appointing a 24 year old into the strategic position, saying he will learn on the job, others think he lacks the experience to head a strategic FERMA board.
In a post on X platform on Monday, Sani, added: “Just look at the state of Federal roads in the country and ask yourself if those old people appointed over the years merited the position they held.”
