Appeal Court Judgement: Swallow Your Pride, Integrity Group Advises Omo-Agege, Gbagi, Pela

The Chairman and Convener, Integrity Group of Delta State, Dr. Oke Idawene has chided the candidates of the opposition parties in the state in the 2023 governorship elections, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege of the APC, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi of the SDP and Ken Pela of the LP., for distracting the state with frivolous petitions against the Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwore.

In a congratulatory message to governor Oborevwore following the Appeal court affirmation of his election, Dr. Idawene advised the opposition candidates to swallow their pride, accept defeats and congratulates the governor for the interest of the state.

The Court of Appeal in lagos on Friday  affirmed the election of Rt.Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as governor of Delta state.

Oborevwori the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party 

PDP, was declared winner of the March 18, 2023 Delta governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),after he secured 360,234 votes to defeat Obaisi Ovie Omo Agege of the All Progressives Congress APC, who trailed behind with 240,229 votes.

The Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Asaba, had earlier on September 29,confirmed the election of Oborevwori as the duly elected governor of the state.

In its judgment, the three-member tribunal, led by Justice C.H. Ahuchaogu, dismissed the petition filed by Senator Omo-Agege, for lack of merit.

Dr. Idawene advised the opposition to shun propaganda as it will not help them, even as he vowed to defend Oborevwore’s administration against falsehood being peddled by the opposition candidates.

“Let it be on record that the Integrity Group will stop at nothing to defend Oborevwore’s administration against the falsehood and propaganda of the opposition parties in the state. We shall promote the MORE agenda and the activities of ‘You Matter Charity Foundation’ at all times.

“Governor Sherriff Oborevwore has demonstrated genuine leadership qualities since he assumed office and Integrity Group is duty bound to ensure that Deltans are well informed of all programmes and policies of the administration.” He added. 

He however, commended Deltans for their support for the first family even as he noted that the MORE agenda will be implemented to the benefits of all Deltans.
