Indiscriminate Dredging, A Threat To Communities – Ovie Of Uvwie Kingdom

HRM Dr Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso JP OON Abe 1, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom in Delta State, has stated that indiscriminate dredging particularly in urban areas was a threat and danger to communities.
He therefore called on the Federal Government to place a ban on it forthwith.
This was contained in the keynote address of the traditional ruler during a civic reception held in honour of Uvwie born Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Olorogun Festus Egwarewa Adeniyi Keyamo SAN by Uvwie people at the ultra modern palace of the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom GRA Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area on Saturday 11th November 2023.

The Uvwie monarch in his requests loaded address reiteraited his call for the return of the unused land acquired by the Nigerian Army to Uvwie people at Effurun and Ohorie communities.
Other requests made by the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom in his articulated address were the revitalisation and upgrading the Osubi Airport, rehabilitation of the highly deplorable Federal Roads particularly the Orerokpe – Eku – Abraka – Agbor Road and the Effurun – Sapele- Benin Road, the establishment of a Police Area Command in Uvwie Local Government Area, resucitation of seaports in Delta State among others.
