Treasurer Of UGIU Laid To Rest In Alaka Quarters, Effurun

The remains of the Treasurer of the apex socio cultural body in Uvwie Kingdom , Uvwie General Improvement Union ( UGIU), High Chief Kenneth Okwowe were laid to rest in his Alaka residence, Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area on Friday 3rd November, 2023.
The burial ceremony of Okwowe who until his death was the Usavwre ( tradititioal key ) of Etche R Alegbon ( traditional administrative unit ) Uvwie Kingdom, commenced with burial rites of Uvwie chiefs at his said residence.
This was immediately followed by a funeral mass service at the Mother of The Redeemer Catholic Church, Airport Road Junction.
The funeral mass service was preceded by his interment and reception of guests at his residence .

The Uvwie Emah ( royal dance ) , Uvwie born music sensational Mimirahan and seasoned Urhobo orators entertained guests at the event.
Professor Joe Abugu ( SAN ), Uvwie born Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress ( NLC ), Delta State Council, Comrade ( Chief ) Goodluck Ofobruku , the President General of Uvwie General Improvement Union ( UGIU) Chief Abovi Hope Erute were among the important personalities spotted at the event.
Okowhe until his death was also the personal assistant ( PA ) to HRM Dr Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso JP OON Abe 1 the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom.
