Bighoro Charges ECOSA BOT On Usage Of Chevron Donated Multiple - Purpose Building

The President of Essi College Old Students Association (ECOSA) Worldwide, Chief Sylvester Bighoro has charged members of Board of Trustees of the association to ensure the usage of a multi purpose building donated by Chevron by management, staff and students of the college.

This was contained in his keynote address shortly after the inauguration of members of the board during the diamond anniversary of Essi College Warri last weekend.

Bighoro bitterly noted that the multiple purpose building has not been used 3 years after it was donated to the school by Chevron.

The President of ECOSA Worldwide listed the facilities in the multi purpose building to include: library, science laboratories, ITC , administration offices , classrooms among others.

While congratulating members for their appointment, he humbly noted that their appointment was a call to service.

He had earlier listed the achievements of his administration to include awards of scholarships to indigent students of the school, donation of benches and desks, resuscitation of the school library, planting of trees, among others.

The 3-day event included sensitization of the celebration with a rally along major areas in Warri, a novelty football match between Essi College and United College of Commerce, speech on drug abuse by youths, inauguration of members of Board of Trustees ( BOT ) , presentation of wards , cultural dance , cocktail party , thanks giving service among others.

Meanwhile, a member of ECOSA Board of Trustees, High Chief Peter Obodo has stressed the importance of an old students association to its Alma Mater.

Obodo who is the Unuovwodo (tradititioal representative of the Ovie of Agbarha Warri) of Igbudu Community who spoke to our correspondent in a media chat during the diamond anniversary of Essi College Warri also stressed that one of the major focus of an old students association should be the development of its Alma Mater.

” They ( old students ) should give back to what they got from their Alma Mater because their Alma Mater was the foundation of whatever good things they have achieved in life.”
