Katsina Govt Sanctions Officials Over ‘Fraud’ In Teachers’ Recruitments

Following the genuine complaints of some key stakeholders, the Katsina State Government has inaugurated a special committee to probe the omission of qualified candidates, scoring discrepancies and other issues trailing the recruitment of 7,325 primary and secondary school teachers, by the Katsina government.

The state Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajiya Zainab Musa Musawa, disclosed this to newsmen after the eighth Katsina State Executive Council meeting, presided over by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, on Wednesday.

“This will enable us to grant employment offers to 22 qualified candidates omitted, while striking out 152 names from the list of the 7,325 recruited teachers, as they did not sit for the recruitment examination. We are also removing 11 persons from the list as they were not qualified initially,” she said.

Hajiya Musawa, who assured that the state government would sanction the errant officials behind the recruitment scandal, said Governor Dikko Umaru Radda would not take it lightly with anybody found guilty of indiscipline or engaging in acts contravening administrative regulations.
