Shamar Educational Foundation Holds Seminar For Teachers

Shamar Educational Foundation, Enerhen in Uvwie Local Government Area held a seminar for teachers with the term ‘Empowering The Tutor To Tutor Gen Z ‘ s & The Alpha Generation on Thursday, 19th April, 2024.

The event attracted teachers, proprietors, proprietresses and distinguished resource persons from Delta State and other parts of Nigeria.

The facilitator of the seminar, Ambassador Dr. ( Mrs ) Onyi Ikemefuna who is also the Executive Director of the foundation in a media chat with newsmen shortly after the event, explained that the seminar was held to improve the quality of education in line with the MORE agenda of Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori.

“This generation is the Gen Z ‘s & alpha that is comprised of children of the 90s and 2000.

“They are not the old generations we used to know,” she added.

Another esteemed resource person at the serminer, Comrade (Mrs )Rose Obi shared the same opinion as she strongly admonished that the old generation must catch up fast with the new generation, saying “in catching up with them, you should have a smart phone . So that you can be empowered in learning with them.”

“Some teachers are still in the old generation. Whether we like it or not, the world is moving; the only constant thing is change. So you have to change or you will be left behind, “she further advised.

Contributing to the to topic of the seminar, a very distinguished guest, Lady Lolo Uche Nwanolue who is the proprietress of the famous Edulyn Schools, Ekpan called for the constant or regular update of school curriculums in Delta State.

On her part, Dr ( Mrs ) Rachael Kokomare applauded and appreciated the facilitator of the seminar as she expressed optimism that the serminar will improve the quality of teaching and learning in schools.

Likewise, another distinguished resource person at the seminar, Ambassador Dr Edewor Egedegbe noted that the serminer was an eye opener as he called for such events in the society.

Adding: “So that people can learn new things and renew their operational techniques.”
