BREAKING: 26 Rivers Lawmakers Loyal To Wike Decamp To APC
Twenty-six lawmakers in the Rivers State House of Assembly believed to be loyal to the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike have announced their defection to All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defection announcement happened during Monday’s sitting at the House.
They were all members of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) before the defection, but they had been embroiled in a conflict with other members of the 32-member House, leading to a split of the legislature into two.
The other members of the Assembly are supporters of Governor Siminalayi Fubara who is locked in a political battle with his predecessor and erstwhile godfather, Wike.

Meanwhile, a source close to Wike who confirmed the development, said: “The FCT Minister is expected to move any moment from now,” just as he said that those that defected are 27, not 26.
Adding: “Governor Sim Fubara is the Leader of the PDP in Rivers State. No more doubts.”
