Super Falcons Drop 2 Spots In New FIFA World Ranking
Nigeria’s Super Falcons dropped two places from 32nd to 34th in the final FIFA Coca-Cola women’s world ranking for 2023.
In the ranking that was released on Friday, 15 December, 2023 on FIFA website, saw the Falcons remain number one in Africa.
Despite recording impressive results in the Paris 2024 Olympic and WAFCON 2024 qualifiers against Ethiopia and Cape Verde respectively, it was not enough to move the Falcons up.

In the last ranking that was published in August, the nine-time Africans champions moved up eight places from 40th to 32nd.
The impressive ranking was thanks to their outstanding performance at the 2023 FIFA women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Following the Falcons’ showing at this year’s World Cup, Nigeria won the Best Women’s National Team at Monday’s 2023 CAF awards.
Meanwhile, reigning women’s world champions Spain end the year as the number one ranked team, which is their first-ever feat.
At number two is former FIFA women’s World Cup winners USA,France are third, England maintained fourth and Sweden drop to fifth.
The next FIFA women’s world ranking will be published in March 2024.
