Ethiope East LGA Set To Host Agricultural Summit

Chairman, Ethiope East Local Government Area in Delta State, Hon. (Pharm) Victor Ofobrukueta, has said that his administration will this month of January, as a part of his plans for the economic development of the area, organise an agricultural summit.
The council boss who spoke exclusively to Oasis Magazine recently, added that the event will take place towards the end of January, disclosing that journalists will also be invited to witness the agricultural lecture that will take place at the headquarters of the local government area in Isiokolo.
In his words, “the objective of the programme is to bring together farmers across the local government to come and showcase their produce for people to see what they have been doing and to attract investment.”
Adding: “This will allow us see what our farmers have been doing and how investors can key into it. Some of them are into subsistence farming and hope to attract investors who will partner with them and see how they can attract some industries that can bring about cassava mills, rice mills etc.”

“So the objective is to bring together all our farmers in the local government for us to see what they are doing and also to see how government will be able to partner with them to increase their production,” he said.
Meanwhile, in his New Year message to the people of the local government, he said: “I want to tell the people in Ethiope East to continue to be law abiding citizens and shun crime. They should go about their legitimate businesses as we enter this New Year. Above all, they should be peace loving, focused and put their trust in God.”
“I want to thank God for our lives as a people and a local government. We want to say that we have discovered that in the past year, the crime rate, taking about kidnapping during the yuletide reduced compared to what we use to have,” he concluded.
