Gunmen Kidnap Akwanga LG Boss, Andaha, Others In Nasarawa
Gunmen have abducted the Chairman of Akwanga Local Government of Nasarawa State, Safiyanu Andaha.
Apart from the council boss, a renowned philanthropist in the local government, Adamu Umar popularly known as Maccido, was also abducted.
They were kidnapped yesterday night around 8:30pm on their way back from Andaha to Akwanga town, in Nasarawa State.
They were reported to have been abducted along Andaha-Akwanga, as the armed gunmen were said to have appeared from the bush and whisked away the kidnap victims to an unknown destination.
According to an unconfirmed report from a close aide to one of the abductees revealed that the abduction was not unconnected with the local government elections coming up later this year, noting that it was “politically motivated”.
