…Forgery Allegation Is A Fake Issue, Dismissed At The Court – Barr Okoro

Delta lawyer, Barr. G. O. Uduobowhe of Olorogun & Co. Chamber, Ughelli North local government area of Delta state, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbelokun and Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 5, Edo State, Mr. Arungwa Nwazue Udo over allegations of forgery, perjury and threat to life.

The petition also charged the police heads to carry out a thorough investigation on the allegations of forgery of a Deed of Conveyance prepared by Gregory Okoro Esq, Lucky Arisabor Esq and others, while they also investigate Mr. Raphael Emecho on allegation on threat to lives on their clients.

The petition reads in parts, “We are solicitors to Pastor Peter Essi, Israel Akpevwiehor, Hezekiah Akpevwiehor and Pastor Gilbert Ughelie of Otogor, who on the 26th of September, 2023, submitted a petition to Ughelli Area Command to investigate a case forgery over a Deed of Conveyance, alleged against Gregory Okoro Esq and others.

“Since the submission of the petition, the Ughelli Area Command did not only reluctantly invite Mr. Raphael Emecho but also immediately released him on bail without proper interrogation. The investigation was shabbily done to suit the desire of the suspects who are also boasting of their relationship with the Commissioner of Police and Ughelli Area Command, thus frustrating the investigation of the allegations.

“One of our clients, Pastor Gilbert Ughelie is the bonafide owner of all the parcel of land measuring 18767.700 Square Metres along Ughelli/Patani road, Otogor since 2004, which Mr. Raphael Emecho is allegedly laying claim to by conspiring with Gregory Okoro Esq and others, allegedly forging a title documents with a Deed of Conveyance dated 16th of June, 1997 to aid Mr. Emecho to claim the land.

“The two GSM numbers owned by Gregory Okoro Esq as stated in the prepared Deed of Conveyance in 1997 was contrary to the year 2001 that GSM came into use in Nigeria and those lawyers; Ufuoma Ese Omimi-Okoro Esq, Uvie Elohor Omimi Esq, Martina Ijeoma Oni Esq, Ify Chime Esq and Lucky Arisabor Esq whose names appeared in the Deed of Conveyance prepared by Gregory Okoro Esq in 1997 were not lawyers as at then.”

Responding to the allegations of forgery and others, Gregory Gboloji Okoro Esq denied the allegation of forgery, saying that “the forgery issue is a fake issue and it has been dismissed at both Zone 5, Edo State and at the court since on the 10th of this month because the forgery case holds nothing, so the judge advise them to withdraw it and they did. And also dragging lawyers in my chamber into the case has no meaning.”
