Ibadan Explosion: Òyó Govt Suspends Ọba Linked To Illegal Miners

The Òyó State Government has suspended Ọba Gbolagade Muritala Babalola (Gbadewolu I) as the Onido of Ido in Ido Local Government Area over intelligence reports linking him to illegal miners.
This was contained in a post shared on Friday by the official X handle of the state government.
It reads: “The Òyó State Government has suspended Ọba Gbolagade Muritala Babalola (Gbadewolu I) as the Onido of Ido in Ido Local Government Area.
“The government, in a letter dated 2 February 2024 and signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, indicated that Governor Seyi Makinde approved the suspension on 1 February 2024.

“The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, revealed that the Onido of Ido was suspended because of intelligence reports linking him to illegal miners in Ido Local Government Area.
“The matter is being investigated.”
