SSA Orhomonokpaye Worked Hard, Merited His Appointment – SSG
…Tells Publishers To Shun Envy, Improve Their Publications
The Secretary to the Delta State Government, SSG, Dr. Kingsley Emu, has described the Senior Special Assistant, SSA to the Governor on Community Newspapers, Comr. Prince Joseph Orhomonokpaye, as a young man that proved his worth in actions and character to merit the appointment given to him by His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, the Executive Governor of Delta State.
The SSG has also urged publishers who are the operators of Community Newspapers’ Media Houses in the State to shun unproductive attributes like envy, back-biting and close ranks to work together as a team to be better positioned for positive impact in the state.
Dr. Emu who spoke during a meeting with the SSA Community Newspaper Prince Orhomonokpaye and members of his team, which included Media Executives and publishers of Community Newspapers and Magazines in the State, said Gov. Oborevwori recognizes the Important role of the grassroots newspapers in the information dissemination business.
He used the opportunity to give insightful hints to the publishers on how to enhance their publications and better position themselves to attract better patronages from the public, just as he emphasized the need for publishers to embrace the new technology and properly utilize the social media in enhancing their productivity as there are abundance of opportunities of greater readership and patronage for their Mediums there.

The SSG categorically urged the publishers to be concerned about the standards of their publications in order to meet up with the demands of the ever – changing trends of they are to remain in business, stressing that it would pay more for two or more publishers to collaborate to produce a publication that is robust and regular in the newsstands, than continue to stick to individual publications that may neither be up to market standards, not regular in the market.
Dr. Emu who offerred series of expositions and expert advices to the publishers, gave several useful hints on better ways to attract market value, gain wider readership and eventually secure appreciable patronages that could transform into tangible financial gains in their investments, pointing out that there is big business in community news reporting, if the potentials available are properly tapped.
He commended SSA Orhomonokpaye for using the appointment given to him to promote the M.O.R.E. Agenda of the Gov. Oborevwori – led administration, noting that the SSA Community Newspaper’s office has been a hub of activities that are contributing positively to the enhancement of the state government’s programmes and policies.
While describing Prince Orhomonokpaye as a radical goal – getter who worked tirelessly before, during and after the elections of last year, the SSG pointed out that the government have no doubt that he would work to justify the confidence reposed in him through the appointment, just as he urged members of the Community Newspapers constituency, which Orhomonokpaye was appointed to serve, to endeavour to work closely with him to be able to benefit from the Governor’s M.O.R.E. Agenda, which he is vigorously promoting.
Speaking earlier, Prince Orhomonokpaye informed the SSG that he and members of his team were in the SSG’s office to collectively congratulate on his well-deserved Appointment as Secretary to the State Government and also convey the assurances of publishers of community newspapers in the State to partner with the SSG’s office in the discharge of their duties as couriers of information to the people and from the people to the government.
He pledged the unwavering commitment of community newspapers in the State to the Gov. Oborevwori Government, and fully ready to continue with the task of ensuring that the masses, especially the people in the rural areas are well informed about the activities of the State Government.
