Agberen To Oborevwori: Provide Alternative Routes, Before Building Flyover Bridges, Road Expansion In Warri, Effurun Metropolis

“No Justice, No Peace Initiative,” has appealed to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State to consider providing alternative routes before the commencement of building flyover bridges and carrying out the road expansion expansion projects in Warrior and Effeun metropolis.

Agberen said this in a statement on Monday made available to Oasis Magazine

He added: “While I commend the Delta State Governor; Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on the recent approved construction of three flyover bridges and road expansion projects in Warri and Uvwie Areas of Delta State, It becomes very necessary, that the Delta State Government, makes alternative roads available for motorists and other road users, to access their businesses and also go about their different daily activities.’

He continued: “Considering the Effurun overhead bridge axis of the road, that leads to Sapele/Benin City, already has existing bad spots, which has made it difficult for drivers, motorists to have easy access; it would be much harder for residents and motorists plying the busy Effurun and Warri roads to access their destinations when the contract fully commences. The contracts include; road expansion of a section of DSC/NPA Expressway, including a cloverleaf interchange at the existing Effurun flyover, alongside two pedestrian bridges, flyover bridges at Enerhen junction to Marine Gate, DSC roundabout and PTI junction.

“It is in the attitudes of the Government to be reactive, waiting for foreseeable challenges to occur before planning, rather than taking proactive measures. Incidents that may have been avoided, ends up becoming major problems to contend with.”

Furthermore, he said: “The Effurun roundabout is the gateway from Port Harcourt, Rivers State Capital, and Benin City, Edo State Capital, into Warri and its environs. Hence, early considerations by the Delta State Government, to make alternative roads available would help address issues of traffic jams, and also help to ease the flow of movement; To and Fro outside the Effurun and Warri areas.”
