Godswill Smitho Fuel Station Transitions To MRS Outlet, Offers Lower Prices Direct From Dangote Refinery

ABRAKA, DELTA STATE — The former Godswill Smitho Nigeria Limited, also previously known as Godswill Smitho Filling Station, located at FSP Junction, by the Expressway, New Agbor/Sapele Road, Abraka, has officially transited from an Independent Petroleum marketing outlet to an MRS Fuel Station .

The transition marks a strategic shift aimed at strengthening the station’s competitiveness in the local petroleum market while providing consumers with quality petroleum products at lower prices.

Speaking on the development to Oasis Magazine, a representative of the station, Comrade Engr. Otujevwe Paul Ogbe, explained that the facility previously operated as an independent marketer before being incorporated into MRS.

He said the decision was driven by the need to remain competitive in the petroleum business and provide customers with high-quality fuel at a more affordable price.

According to him, the new arrangement enables the station to source petroleum products directly from the Dangote Refinery in Lagos, with the products transported to Abraka for sale to consumers.

“Being an independent marketer, to survive in the business is not that easy. We decided to incorporate it into MRS so that we can be selling high-quality fuel and, at the same time, selling cheap fuel,” he said.

Petrol Sells at ₦1,315 Per Litre

Following the transition, the newly branded MRS Fuel Station is currently selling petrol at ₦1,315 per litre, which the representative described as the MRS standard price.

He said the price is lower than the prevailing prices at some other filling stations in Abraka, where petrol is being sold for between ₦1,350 and ₦1,360 per litre.

The representative said the new pricing is part of the station’s commitment to making quality petroleum products more affordable and accessible to residents and motorists in the area.

Station To Adopt MRS Standards

He stressed that the transition was not merely a change of name, noting that the station is now required to operate in line with the standards of MRS Oil Nigeria Plc.

He explained that the company has strict standards for its dispensing meters, product quality and general operations, adding that operators are not allowed to arbitrarily adjust their meters or operate outside the prescribed standards.

“In order to keep to the MRS standard, which is the requirement, we have to rebrand the building,” he said.

He disclosed that work on the building would commence on Friday to give the facility the full MRS corporate outlook.

According to him, the station has met the necessary requirements for incorporation into MRS, while its operations and dispensing meters are now expected to conform to the company’s standards.

Two MRS Stations In Abraka

The representative also clarified that the development would bring the number of MRS stations in the Abraka area to two.

He explained that while another MRS station is located at Erho, the newly converted facility is the MRS outlet within Abraka main town.

He appealed to residents, motorists and other petroleum consumers in Abraka to patronise the station, assuring them of quality fuel at a cheaper and competitive rate.

“We have quality fuel and at a cheaper rate,” he said.
