M.O.R.E AGENDA: NADESSTU To Organize Delta State Students’ Work-Life Preparatory Summit
PRESS STATEMENT
The Leadership of the National Association of Delta State Students announces the date to organize a one-day summit to prepare all Delta State students for life after school.
Date: 21st June 2024 Time: 11 am Venue: Delta State University, Abraka.
In a statement signed by the National President, Comr. Wiska Monday, GCDSS, and issued to members of the press, “This upcoming summit is in line with our vision to create and build a NADESSTU LIKE NEVER BEFORE, which also aligns with the M.O.R.E Agenda of His Excellency, The Governor of Delta State.”
The title of this summit is tagged “DELTA STATE STUDENTS WORK-LIFE PREPARATORY SUMMIT,” which has been carefully selected to address the difficulties faced by students as they graduate into the labor market.
The theme, “NAVIGATING THE REAL WORLD: BUILDING PATHWAYS TO SUCCESS AFTER SCHOOL,” also takes into account the critical points of conversation during the summit.

The Students Work-Life Preparatory Summit is aimed at providing students with the necessary tools and resources to succeed in their lives after school. It will equip students with essential life skills, career guidance, personal development strategies, and networking opportunities to ensure a smooth transition from academia to the real world.
Objectives:
1. To empower Delta State students to become confident and successful individuals in their personal and professional lives.
2. Prepare students for the labor market by providing insights on industry trends, resume building, interview skills, and job search strategies.
3. Educate students on acquiring digital skills and how to secure remote jobs to gain work-life experience even while in school.
4. Award and provide cash prizes to five (5) best graduating students from Delta State and also offer business grants to students who are into business to help support their entrepreneurial pursuits.
Target Audience: The summit will primarily target Delta State students in higher institutions who are in their final years, but all students interested in life after school will be welcome, especially students from the 14 campuses situated in Delta State.
Summit Activities:
Keynote Speeches: Renowned speakers from different industries will share their experiences, challenges, and success stories, inspiring students to explore various career paths and explain a step-by-step approach to getting involved in their career choices.
Panel Discussions: Successful entrepreneurs will share their personal experiences on how they started their own business/career immediately after school, and other industry experts will engage in interactive discussions covering topics such as career exploration, post-graduation job opportunities, graduate school options, and entrepreneurial ventures.
At the end of the DELTA STATE STUDENTS WORK-LIFE PREPARATORY SUMMIT, students will be empowered with the necessary skills to choose their career paths, build vital digital skills, and gain a competitive edge in the job/business market.
The president is also using this medium to call on students from Delta State origin to plan and prepare themselves for this summit as it promises to be a life/destiny-changing opportunity for all students in fulfillment of the NADESSTU LIKE NEVER BEFORE Agenda.
