Open Letter To Oborevwori To Resuscitate Sapele Technical College

GOV. OBOREVWORI: SAPELE TECHNICAL COLLEGE HAS NO LIGHT FOR YEARS NOW.

It will surprise you to know that Sapele Technical College was founded by the Government the same time with Yaba Tech (now know as Yaba College of Technology) before it grew to a full tertiary institution that it is today. Both Schools are very much way apart at the present time.

Do you know why this is so? Is only because the people, especially the leaders from this part of the Country neglected Sapele Technical College to say the least. They do not see or know the advantages of having a Technical School and the development it brings to its environs and the people themselves. Since it would not bring immediate gains to themselves and their families as they did to UAC (AT&P), ETERNIT, DELTA PAC to mention a few; allowed the school to gradually go down the drain because to them, there would be no personal profit if worked towards the school development. Success and what gives satisfaction to them, is how much money that is in the Bank. Too bad.

In the good old days, is what legacy one lives behind is the pursuit. The American Civil Right Activist, Martin Luther King Jr., ones said “Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country”.

It is on this light that we plead with the present Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Elder S.F.O. OBOREVWORI who is a listening leader and a progressive to come to the rescue of Sapele Technical College, Sapele as he has already started doing elsewhere all over Delta State.

Your Excellency sir, Sapele Technical College, Sapele has no electricity. No Power. How can the WORKSHOPS (welding/fitting, plumbing, carpentry etc) function without electricity power? How can the LABORATORIES (carrying out tests etc) operate without Electricity Power?

Does this mean the students or graduates are half baked?

My dearest Governor. The youth believing Governor. Do come to the aid of Sapele Technical College, Sapele.
