Uvwie: NAPPS Celebrates Children’s Day In Grandstyle

…As Different Ethnocultural Renditions, Award Presentation Dominate Event

On Monday, May 27, 2024, was an atmosphere of joy as member schools of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Uvwie Chapter, and many dignitaries convened at Delta Careers College, Airport Road, to celebrate Children’s Day.

Over twenty schools participated in the big celebration.

Dignitaries who graced the event include Pastor Paul Esene (Chairman, NAPPS, Uvwie — Noble Royal Onward Academy), Chief (Mrs) Theresa Ojigho (Vice Chairman, NAPPS, Uvwie; and Chairman Interschool Activities — Cherish Montessori Cambridge Academy), Rev. (Mrs) Helen Ojoka (Secretary, NAPPS, Uvwie — Newlife School), Chief (Dr) Ochuko Akpeme (National Vice President, NAPPS; and Special Guest of Honour — Classical International Schools), Elder E.E. Ukeredi (Delta Careers College), Mrs Juliana Manager (Acting Chairman, Uvwie Local Government Area) and Pastor (Mrs) D.M. Oguntoyinbo (State Representative — HillTop Schools).

Formally opening the occasion, Pastor Paul Esene, Chairman, NAPPS, Uvwie Chapter, admonished learners to be law-abiding and to avoid examination malpractice always.

He went further to congratulate the leadership of NAPPS, Uvwie Chapter, on the successful Children’s Day hosting and other demonstrations of leadership competence.

The Chairman, Interschool Activities, Chief Montessorian Theresa Ojigho, gave an engaging speech, as she told the children to show appreciation to their parents for the opportunity to join other children in celebration despite financial constraints.

Speaking further, Mrs Theresa Ojigho encouraged schools and parents to regularly let their children participate in extracurricular activities as the activities would foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy rivalry.

These healthy competitions, acording to the Learning Strategist, also encourage personal growth and skills development.

Concluding her educative speech, she reminded everyone, present, about the NAPPS Spelling Bee and the NAPPS Mathematics Competition which would hold on the 12th of June, 2024.

The Chairman of the occasion, Mrs Juliana Manager, motivated Uvwie children to always keep the flag flying in their display of intelligence, just as she thanked all private schools, in Uvwie, for the good work they do for the Nigerian child.

The State Representative, Pastor (Mrs) D.M. Oguntoyinbo, presented awards to Chidinma Nwankwo of Cherish Montessori Cambridge Academy, Enerhen; Forteta Preye of Delta Careers College, Airport Road; and Ejueyiobi Deju of Word of Faith School, while congratulating them on their emergence as winners of the NAPPS (Uvwie) Interschool Essay Competition, 2024.

The Representative, who was extremely pleased with the academic uniqueness of the winners, encouraged them to continue in excellence.

The NAPPS (Uvwie) Children’s Day celebration will remain fresh in the memories of everyone for years.
