Afabor Appreciates Heritage Oil, WSLC For Awarding Scholarship To Oteghele Indigenes

The Chairman of Agbarha Warri riverine community of Oteghele in Warri South Local Government Area, Hon Kenneth Afabor has appreciated and commended Heritage Oil and Warri South Local Council for awarding scholarship to secondary students and university undergraduate students of the community.

Afabor made the commendation in a media chat with our correspondent in the community’s secretariat along Ometan Road Warri last weekend.

He gladly disclosed that four 100 level university students got scholarship awards, two each from of Heritage Oil Warri South Local Government Council

The Chairman of Oteghele Community also disclosed that four secondary students got scholarship awards from Heritage Oil.

He further disclosed that the selection process for secondary school category was through written examination while that of the university undergraduate students was done through balloting.

He further hinted that Miss Okpeh Aghoghoghene Vanessa, Master Samuel Oghenefejiro, Master Williams Teneowei -Ebragha Daniel and Miss Afabor Tejiri Naomi were the successful awardess in secondary school category while Miss Egwuono Ochuko and Miss Okierete Success Ovo ( Heritage Oil beneficiaries) , Miss Yinzide Bekere Oloye and Aghogho Okpeh (Warri South Local Government Council beneficiaries) were the beneficiaries in the university undergraduate category.

Afabor remarked that the gesture was a show of the socio corporate responsibilities of Heritage Oil Company and Warri South Local Government Council to the ancient Agbarha Warri riverine community just as he noted that the gesture will further streaghten the cordial relationship between Oteghele Community and the givers of the award.

While congratulating the awardees, Afabor charged them to make good use of the scholarships to further their studies.

He seized the opportunity to appreciate HRM Kingsley Orereh Igbi 11 Ataneru 1, the Ovie of Agbarha Warri Kingdom for his peace initiatives which he said has brought positive developments to community and indeed the entire kingdom and that was why the exercise was done without rancour.
