Ukpokiti, Oteghele Debunk Omadino Ownership Claim Of Their Communities

The people of Agbarha Warri riverine communities of Ukpokiti and Oteghele in Delta State have debunked Itsekiri community of Omadino ownership claim over their communities as widely published in the media recently.

This was contained in a statement issued by Agbarha Warri born activists, Elder Arues Ideh and Okpako Opiah in Warri , Warri South Local Government Area at the weekend.

The statement maintained that Ukpokiti and Oteghele people are Urhobos and that are under the ancient Urhobo Kingdom of Agbarha Warri in Warri South Local Government Area .

The statement noted that Ukpokiti and Oteghele communities have boundaries with the Itsekiri community of Obodo and not Omadino.

The statement recalled that the people of Obodo Community attested to this claim in response to Omadino ownership claim over Obodo Community in a media publication which the Omadino people did not dispute.

“Obodo people are our good and friendly neighbours unlike the Omadino people that are unfriendly to us ‘ the statement added.

The statement then urged Delta State and Federal governments and the reading public to discountenance the Omadino ownership claim over Ukpokiti and Oteghele communities which it described as baseless and unfounded.

“They should be told to stop making or issuing false statements that could cause ethnic disharmony in Warri South Local Government Area,” the statement further added.
