Pioneer executive members of Oasis Magazine Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, have been sworn-in.

The inauguration of the executive took place on Thursday in Asaba during the Distinguished Nigerian Awards, DISNA, organized by Oasis Magazine.

The said award ceremony held at Opal Even Center.

Chairman of the Union in Delta State, Comrade Churchill Oyovwi, who was on ground to coordinate the swearing-in, commended Oasis Magazine for standing out, just as he noted that after Oasis Magazine Chapel was inaugurated in Abraka, the chapel within a short space of time has shown capacity and carried out some noble projects.

Furthermore, he charged the executive to carry out their functions faithfully, set track records and become a reference point for chapels in the state.

Meanwhile, he commended Oasis Magazine for making Delta NUJ proud by organizing a successful award ceremony, saying the media house is standing tall in the state.

Comrade Oyovwi then led four of the eight-man exco present to take their oath of office.

Pioneer Chairman of the chapel, Mrs. Joy Enamuotor, in her unread speech, titled: “Unity and Excellence: Our Path to Greatness,” said: “I am honoured to stand before you today as we gather to reaffirm our commitment to our noble profession and to our beloved chapel. We have a unique opportunity to foster an environment of unity, collaboration, and excellence.

“As journalists, we recognise the power of a united voice. We must continue to support one another, share ideas, and leverage our diverse expertise to achieve common goals.”

She charged members of the chapel to “encourage open communication and constructive feedback, respect the perspectives and opinions of others and collaborate on projects and initiatives that promote the chapel’s interests.”

“Let us work together to, establish a strong, inclusive executive council, develop a comprehensive strategic plan and host regular meetings and social events,” she added.

She continued: “As members of the NUJ-Oasis Chapel, we have the potential to achieve remarkable things. Let us harness our collective strength, creativity, and passion to elevate our chapel to new heights. Together, we can.”

She also commended the publisher, Oasis Magazine, Pastor Daniel Dafe Umukoro for birthing the chapel to fruition,” saying that the purpose for the chapel will certainly be fulfilled.

“We promise to be worthy ambassadors of the Oasis Magazine brand,” she concluded.
