By Daniel Dafe
Chairman, Ethiope East Local Government Area, in Delta State, Hon. Augustine Ogbedegbe, has called on residents in the area to show love to one another as the world celebrates Christmas, marking the birth of Jesus Christ.
He spoke to Oasis Magazine on Wednesday in a phone conversation.
According to him, Christmas is a time to show love, just as he called on residents in Ethiope East to show love to others and give gifts to those around them.
“If you have a sack of rice, you can share with those around you,” he said.

Furthermore, he urged them to be security conscious and vigilant.
In his words, “this is the time when people who are not working want to buy Benz by all means. Many look for persons to kidnap for ransom.”
He continued: “I urge residents to be careful with where they go and the people they associate with. I have spoken with hoteliers to take notice of those that lodge in their hotels in order to ensure that criminals do not use their hotels as a hideout to launch attacks in our communities.
“I have also told the vigilantes to monitor the outskirts of their community.”
“I wish all residents a happy Christmas and a prosperous new year,” he concluded.
