Edo Governor Orders Closure Of Ambrose Alli University Satellite Campuses

The Edo State Government has ordered the immediate closure of all satellite campuses of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma.

A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, confirmed that Governor Monday Okpebholo issued the directive as part of his administration’s commitment to improving higher education in the state.

The government emphasized that all programmes and courses offered by AAU must now be conducted strictly within the university’s main campuses in Ekpoma.

The directive mandates the university’s Governing Council and Management to take immediate steps to comply.

The closure follows the state’s significant investments in AAU, with authorities determined to enhance the quality of education and eliminate irregularities associated with off-campus learning centers.

This decision is expected to impact students and faculty members affiliated with the affected campuses, though the government has yet to announce transition plans for those affected.
