Delta APC Rejects Hon. Francis Waive’s Call For Adoption Of Gov. Oborevwori In 2027

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State, has dissociated itself from the recent statement credited to Hon. Francis Waive, the member representing Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, calling for the Party to adopt Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as its candidate for the 2027 gubernatorial election.
This was contained in a statement on Wednesday signed by Valentine Onojeghuo Esq., Publicity Secretary, APC, Delta State.

He added: “We wish to state unequivocally that Hon. Waive’s position is purely his personal opinion and does not reflect the stance of Delta APC, its leadership, or the generality of its members. Our great Party remains steadfast in its resolute mission to rescue Delta State from the shackles of misrule and the failures of the PDP-led administration.”
According to the statement, “it is on record that Governor Oborevwori’s tenure so far has been a monumental disappointment, characterized by financial recklessness and a glaring lack of developmental progress,” saying that “despite receiving over ₦2 trillion in federal allocations, the Oborevwori administration has failed to deliver any meaningful infrastructural, economic, or social advancements for the people of Delta State.”
Delta APC continued: “The state remains burdened by dilapidated roads, a worsening economic climate, and a deepening crisis in governance.
“The APC in Delta State boasts an array of eminently qualified and capable individuals who will offer Deltans a viable and credible alternative in 2027. We are confident that the people of Delta, having witnessed the continued monumental failures of the PDP, will overwhelmingly support the APC’s candidate to usher in real progress, accountability, and development.”
The party urged members and the general public to disregard Hon. Waive’s statement “as it does not align with the Party’s collective resolve to unseat the PDP and deliver purposeful governance to the good people of Delta State.”
“Delta APC remains committed to freeing the State from the bondage of bad governance and will field a formidable candidate through a transparent and competitive process that truly represents the aspirations of the people of the State who are earnestly yearning for real change,” the statement concluded.
