DELSU Alumni Association Inaugurates Bayelsa Branch
In a significant step towards strengthening alumni unity and expanding its national footprint, the National President of the Delta State University (DELSU) Alumni Association, Joseph Igbuwe, alongside a distinguished delegation of national officers, officially inaugurated the Bayelsa State Branch on Sunday, 13th April 2025.
The momentous event, held in Bayelsa, marked the formal ratification and incorporation of the chapter into the DELSU Alumni Association Worldwide.
With this development, the Bayelsa Branch now stands as a fully recognized and integral part of the global DELSU alumni network.

During the inauguration, the National President commended the dedication and enthusiasm of alumni members in Bayelsa for their efforts in organizing and mobilizing towards the establishment of the branch.
He emphasized the association’s commitment to fostering a united alumni body, promoting professional networking, and supporting the development of Delta State University through collective contributions and initiatives.
He also highlighted the importance of the branch’s role in fostering community engagement, mentorship opportunities for recent graduates, and collaborative projects that reflect the values and vision of the university.
Mr. Ebaretonbofa Tonwei Thompson was officially sworn in and confirmed as the Chairman of the Bayelsa Branch.
In his acceptance speech, he expressed gratitude to the national body for their support and pledged to work diligently with his team to uphold the ideals of the alumni association.
He called on all DELSU graduates residing in or connected to Bayelsa State to join hands in building a vibrant and impactful Branch.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several national executives, prominent alumni, stakeholders, and representatives from various sectors, signaling a strong foundation for the chapter’s future activities.
