We Will Support Your Administration, NUJ Assures DELSU VC

Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, Comrade Churchill Oyowe, has assured the Vice Chancellor, Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, Professor Samuel Asagba, of the support of journalists in the state.

He spoke during a private visit to Professor Asagba on Friday in Abraka.

The said visit comes days to the VC’s press conference on Wednesday, as the institution holds its 17th Convocation Ceremony.

Continuing, Oyowe praised the VC for showing capacity since he assumed office.

In his words, “We have gotten positive feedbacks from the university community on your uncommon inputs just few months you came on board.”

“We urge you to continue with this pace and build on the foundation built by your predecessors as you stated during the Pre-Convocation church service on Sunday.”

He continued: “Rest assured that you will always get the backing of journalists in the state as we will always be available to project your good works to the world.”

In his response, Prof. Asagba appreciated the union’s chairman and those that accompanied him during the visit, adding that the university is willing to partner with the NUJ.

“We hit the ground running since we came on board and there is no going back on giving our best while my administration remains in charge,” he promised.

“My doors are open to journalists and the press conference would be the first official avenue to kick this rolling,” the don opined.

Speaking further, he said “DELSU has become a prominent university to reckon with in the country,” just as he said he is determined to build on this and take it further.
