SA To Oborevwori On Security Matters Calls For Peaceful Oruarivie-Abraka Festival

As the cultural day of Oruarivie-Abraka in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State scheduled for May 24, 2025, approaches, Hon. John Enamuotor, Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Security Matters, has urged indigenes and residents of the community to maintain peace and avoid any form of violence or criminal activities during the celebration.

In a statement on Sunday, Hon. Enamuotor emphasized that the Delta State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, will not tolerate any breakdown of law and order under the guise of festival.

“We are conscious of the unpalatable image the festival has had in the past and we are ready to change it,” Hon. Enamuotor said.

“No illegal road blocks, illegal extortion from road users, shedding of blood, stealing or any other form of criminality will be tolerated,” he added.

The Special Assistant assured that the government will work with all security outfits to ensure the festival is held within the ambit of the law.

He expressed confidence that with the cooperation of community leaders and stakeholders, the festival can be successful and hitch-free.

Hon. Enamuotor commended the traditional ruler of the kingdom, HRM Akpomeyoma Majoroh, Ojeta II, for his promise to ensure peace and order during the festival and urged the good people of Oruarivie-Abraka to support the initiative.

“The Delta State Government is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors during the festival. We look forward to a peaceful and enjoyable celebration,” he concluded.
