Church Grants Over 15 Students Scholarships During Vigil In Port Harcourt

In a powerful display of faith and compassion, Solution Prayer Power Divine Ministry in Port Harcourt awarded scholarships to over 15 students during an all-night vigil held at the church’s headquarters in Omuike Aluu Port-Harcourt Rivers State.

The vigil, themed “I Must Overcome”, took an inspiring turn in the early hours of Saturday morning when the church leadership announced the beneficiaries of its 2025 academic scholarship scheme. The gesture, aimed at supporting students who honored the church’s invitation for students to write exams, sparked excitement and emotional gratitude among congregants.

The General Overseer, Prophet Efe Cyril Edah, who made the announcement during the service, said the initiative was a divine instruction meant to lift burdens and open doors for the next generation.

He said, “God laid it upon our hearts to sow into the lives of these children; Education is not only a right—it is a weapon of spiritual and economic liberation. These scholarships are seeds of hope and transformation.”

The scholarship covers the purchase of JAMB forms, 100-level tuition fees, and other academic expenses for secondary students entering tertiary institutions, and registration fees for junior secondary school students entering senior secondary (SS1). Recipients were not members of the church but residents of the community/surrounding communities.

One of the students who received the scholarship described it as “an answered prayer in a season of struggle.”

The church has reportedly formed Solution Social Initiative (SSI) as the humanitarian and developmental outreach arm of the Ministry, dedicated to transforming lives and communities through practical acts of love, compassion, and empowerment using a portion of its tithes and special offerings dedicated to youth empowerment.

During the vigil, Prophet Efe encouraged other religious bodies to invest more actively in community development, especially in the education of children.

Community leaders present at the program lauded the ministry’s initiative, calling it a model of true Christian service. “This is what the church is meant to do—meet both spiritual and physical needs,” one elder said.

The night ended in a joyful celebration, as the congregation prayed over the scholarship recipients, declaring success and divine favor upon their academic journey.

With this latest effort, Solution Prayer Power Divine Ministry continues to reinforce its role not just as a spiritual sanctuary, but as a pillar of hope and opportunity for families in Port Harcourt.
