Police Officer Commits Suicide In Port Harcourt

A heartbreaking incident occurred in the Eagle Island area of Port Harcourt during the early hours of Tuesday, April 22, 2025, as Inspector Maxwell Zabu, a serving police officer, was reported to have died by suicide.
As reported by Dez Mayorz News, Zabu, widely recognized as a committed and hardworking officer, allegedly ended his life by shooting himself at his Eagle Island residence in Port Harcourt.
The exact details surrounding the event are still unknown.
Until his passing, he worked as a personal orderly and trusted aide to Hon. Victor Ihunwo, the former Mayor of Port Harcourt. Their bond was strong, with Ihunwo treating Zabu like a brother, a relationship that endured even after he left office.

His sudden death has left colleagues and members of the community in deep shock and mourning, as he was held in high regard by those who knew him.
