Okuama: Tinubu Is A Military Dictator

Ahmed Bola Tinubu is a military dictator and not a democratic President he claims to be though he was brought to power in a civilian dispensation in 2023.

Tinubu’s action doesn’t speak of a democratic administration. The Okuama crisis is clear evidence of what Tinubu’s intentions really are.

A peaceful community was invaded by the military for no reason and reports of killing of armed soldiers in Okuama that made news headlines are not doubtful.

The military killed Okuama people and burnt the entire community with just one Anglican Church building remaining in Okuama.

The surviving Okuama people went on exile and as I write this, Okuama community is without buildings except the Anglican Church house.

Prof Ekpokpo and co were arrested since 2024 and in the process one of the detainees had died in military cell, no one can tell of the condition of those still being held.

These detainees are being held in military cells till date without trial in court of law and President Tinubu is comfortable that he is elected president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

This Okuama situation could not have happened under a genuine elected civilian administration. Tinubu is not a democrat in my opinion if he is comfortable with illegal detaining of civilians without trial.

Till date no explanation on the motive of the military who left their duty post in Utorogu Gas plant where they were engaged in guarding oil assets to Okuama that has no oil and gas facilities.

Who and what was responsible for soldiers to have gone to Okuama, a remote creek town that led to alleged killing of armed soldiers? There was no war in Okuama that warranted movement of soldiers to Okuama in the creeks.

No federal government facility in Okuama. The alleged peace mission of soldiers stationed at Utorogu Gas Plant to Okuama is questionable.

If Tinubu is a genuine democrat he would have ordered the military to release Prof Ekpokpo and co or ordered for prosecution of the detainees in the law court rather than detaining them indefinitely in military detention without trial.

This can’t happen under a democratic administration. There is no reason for the military to have gone to Okuama community in the creeks since there was no war in Okuama and no oil and gas facilities to protect.

It is the responsibility of the police, not the military, to arrest civilians and prosecute in law court if need be.
