Akpowowo Charges Ughelli North LG Advisory Committee To Give Their Best

The Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Olorogun) Arthur Akpowowo Esq, has charged the newly inaugurated 21-member Ughelli North Local Government Area Advisory Committee to bring their wealth of knowledge and experience to bear in the service of the local government.

Rt. Hon. Akpowowo gave the charge while speaking as Chairman of the Inauguration Ceremony of the 21 Eminent Persons Group of Ughelli North Local Government Area Advisory Committee, held alongside a briefing of elders and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by the Executive Chairman of the Council, Olorogun. Barr. Jaro Egbo, KSC. The event also formed part of activities marking Olorogun Egbo’s one year in office as Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council.

The Deputy Speaker commended Olorogun Jaro Egbo for what he described as remarkable achievements within just one year of steering the affairs of the council. He urged the advisory committee to complement the Executive Chairman’s vision by providing strategic guidance that would further enhance development in the local government.

He also expressed appreciation to the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for his impactful projects in Ughelli North, particularly the ongoing Otowodo Flyover construction, which he noted will significantly transform the area’s infrastructural outlook.

Rt. Hon. Akpowowo further described Ughelli as the historical and administrative headquarters of the Urhobo Nation, stressing the need for all stakeholders to work together in unity for the continued growth and progress of the council.

Among the distinguished members of the Advisory Committee are Chief Miler Uloho (Chairman), Rt. Hon. Ovie Festus Agas, Hon. Stella Okotete, Chief Andrew Oru (Ph.D.), Olorogun Oscar Ibru, Professor Ibodje, Professor Ezekiel Agbalagba (Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun), and Dr. Isaac Akpoveta, among others.

The Deputy Speaker reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that will foster peace, progress, and inclusive governance in Ughelli North Local Government Area and the entire Delta State under the leadership of the MORE AGENDA Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Francis Oborowori.
