COPRECOEN Crowns Oyovwi Best Provost (State), South-South Zone

Honour was given to who honour is due as Committee Of Public Relations and Information Officers Of Colleges Of Education in Nigeria ( COPRECOEN) crowned the Provost of College of Education (COE) Warri, Dr Dickson Onovwakpoma Oyovwi (JP) with the prestigious award of Best Provost (state) South-South Zone on Monday, 1st September, 2025.

The award was bestowed on him at the headquarters of the National Commission For Colleges Of Education ( NCCE ), Abuja, during the 28th anniversary/annual general meeting of COPRECON.

The epoch making event was graced by the Executive Secretary of NCCE, Prof. Paulinus Chijioke, who was also honoured with an award in recognition of his sterling leadership qualities and unwavering support for the association.

Several provosts from colleges of education across the nation were also in attendance.

The PRO of College of Education (COE), Mrs Omovusi Owarieta – Enakarheri who was present at the grand ceremony, spoke to our correspondent on her return from Abuja as she remarked that Dr Oyovwi’s recognition stands as a glowing testament to his visionary leadership, transformational infrastructural strides, outstanding human capital development initiatives, unwavering commitment to academic excellence, and far-reaching contributions to teacher education.

“Beyond the walls of the College, his selfless service continues to impact lives and advance humanity at large.

The public image maker of College of Education Warri then congratulated her boss for the award as she wrapped up the media chat in the following words: “His trailblazing journey of excellence continues to inspire many, and we are proud to be associated with him.”
