DSTG Confirms Agbonifo As PG Of Orogun Kingdom

The tussle over the president generalship of Orogun Kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area has been laid to rest.

This followed the confirmation of Olorogun ( Dr) Bennis Eseoghene Agbonifo as the president general of the community by the Delta State Government on Thursday, 11th September, 2025.

The certificate for the confirmation was presented to her by Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon Pat Ajudua in Asaba on Thursday 11th September, 2025.

Agbonifo, who is a member of Urhobo foremost socio political organization, Urhobo Peoples Integrity ( UPIO) spoke to our correspondent in a media chat on her confirmation shortly after the monthly general meeting of the group at the Ekpan, Uvwie Local Government Area residence of its National President, Dr( Olorogun )Ebenezer Okorodudu on the confirmation last weekend.

Agbonifo who bears the exalted title of ‘ Ejanakpo ( lioness) of Orogun Kingdom, gladly stated that she was highly elated for the confirmation, as she praised the Delta State Government for being peace loving and its good interest in Orogun Kingdom.

“It has been a long battle but today by the grace of God we are victorious. I express my special thanks to our amiable and peace loving Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for giving me the opportunity to serve. I will not disappoint him,” she added.

Dr Agbonifo also thanked the good people of the community for their support as she vowed to take the kingdom to greater heights.

The new President General of Orogun Kingdom promised to carry every indigene of the community along in her administration.

She however solicited for the support and prayers of the people of Orogun Kingdom to enable her to implement her good agenda for them.

Other members of the Olorogun( Dr) Bennis Agbonifo led executive are Chief Augustine Emeofe ( Vice President), Mr. Jolly Itodo (Secretary), Com. Gabriel Akpude (Treasurer), Chief. Agbaifo Moses(Walfare) and Chief. Celestine Ejechi (Publicity Secretary).

They are to serve for three years.
