Ethiope East Shines Bright, As Ogedegbe Bags Prestigious Nigerian Local Government Merit Award In Abuja
The Executive Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Augustine Ogedegbe JP, has been honoured with the 24th Nigerian Local Government Merits Award (LOGMA) as Best Local Government Chairman for 2025.
The prestigious award ceremony took place at the National Merits Award House, in Maitama, Abuja, bringing together leaders and stakeholders from across the nation to celebrate excellence in grassroots governance.
Receiving the award, Hon. Ogedegbe expressed appreciation to the organisers of LOGMA for their commitment to recognising local government excellence and sustaining the initiative for the past 24 years.
In his acceptance speech, he stated: “I am deeply honoured to receive this award. I dedicate it first to God Almighty and then to the good people of Ethiope East whose support and trust have made this recognition possible.

The LOGMA Awards is nationally recognised for celebrating outstanding leadership, innovation, transparency, and impactful governance at the grassroots level.
Under Hon. Ogedegbe’s leadership, Ethiope East has witnessed commendable strides in infrastructure, health, education, youth empowerment, and overall development.
Other awardees from Delta state include Hon. Osilonya Vicent Onyekweli, Executive Chairman Ndokwa East Local Government Council and Hon. Chief Abeke Bright Afure, the Executive Chairman, Sapele Local Government Council.
