NAPPS Day Holds In Delta

Owners of private schools in Delta State under the aegis of National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, NAPPS, at the weekend held a two-day NAPPS Day event with theme ‘Transformation through Redefining, Redesigning and Reimagining.’

The 2026 edition of the programme which took place at the PTI Conference Center, Effurun, attracted members from the 25 local government areas in the state.

Speaking during the first session on Friday morning, Chairman of NAPPS in the state, Deaconess Young Precious Nwanne, said: “Today, we gather not just as educators and school proprietors, but as visionaries committed to shaping the minds and futures of our young generation.”

According to her, this year’s theme, “is both timely and necessary.”

Adding: “In a rapidly changing world, the educational landscape demands more than just incremental improvements,” saying “it calls for bold, deliberate, and transformative action.”

She continued: “Redefining challenges us to revisit our understanding of what education truly is. It encourages us to question outdated practices, to examine our goals, and to ensure that every child entrusted to our care is equipped not just academically, but emotionally, socially, and morally for the complexities of the 21st century.

“Redesigning tells us about action. It is about rethinking our curricula, our teaching methods, and our institutional structures. It is the deliberate crafting of learning environments that nurture creativity, critical thinking, and resilience. As school proprietors, we must embrace innovation, leveraging technology and modern pedagogy to foster holistic development.”

Furthermore, she said: “Reimagining is the most inspiring of the three,” just as she stated: “It is the ability to envision an education system that transcends limitations; a system where every child’s potential is recognized, celebrated, and cultivated. It challenges us to dream boldly, to create schools that are not just centers of learning, but beacons of hope, character, and excellence.”

Young said further: “Transformation is never easy. It requires courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment. Yet, as members of NAPPS, we are uniquely positioned to lead this charge. We are custodians of change, tasked with molding future leaders, innovators, and responsible citizens.”

The chairman urged NAPPS members in the state to “not merely adapt to the future” but shape it.

“By redefining, redesigning, and reimagining education in Delta State, we pave the way for generations to come to thrive, excel, and make meaningful contributions to society,” she opined.

A keynote address on the theme was delivered by Dr. Isaac Ajayi.

The event also featured dance and other presentations from NAPPS schools in the area.

A gala night held on Saturday. At the said fun-filled event, a short lecture on innovation was made and as well, awards were presented to 31 members of the body who have shown exceptional commitment to the growth of NAPPS in the oil-rich state.

The event ended on Saturday with a brief morning session.
