Ereyitomi Turbanned Madugu Of Arewa Warri
Rt. Hon. Chief Thomas Ereyitomi Member representing Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives has been turbanned as Madugu of Arewa Warri and Environs, Delta where he commended the Community in Warri for their harmonious coexistence with the people of Warri.
Chief Ereyitomi made the commendation during the maiden edition of Arewa Day Celebration in Warri where he was formally honoured by the Arewa Community, he charged them to sustain the existing cordial relationship between them and the people with view to further deepen the peaceful co-existence.
He pledged his continuous assistance to the Arewa Community just as he and called on them to maintain peace to attract development and benefit more from his numerous life changing programmes and that of the President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Presenting a humanitarian award on behalf of the Arewa community and turbaning of Rt. Hon. Ereyitomi, Alhaji Adamu Muhammed Sanusi(Wazirin), Sarkin Hausawa of Warri and Environ commended the Federal lawmaker for his continuous contribution to the well being of the Arewa Community in the Constituency.
According to him, “Chief Ereyitomi has always responded positively, rising to the occasion whenever there is the need to assist the Hausa Community in the three Warri Local Government Areas. The list is endless, he also extends his empowerment programmes to the Arewa Community. His generosity towards the Arewa Community in these areas is unequalled, hence , after a thorough appraisal, we were left with no option but to honour him.”
Also speaking, Danjuma Mohammed, DSVG, Chairman , Hausa Quarter, Warri disclosed that the Arewa Day celebration is a day set aside to appreciate their host communities and individuals that has contributed towards their well being and made their stay in the area much more comfortable for them, hence they identified Chief Ereyitomi who has immensely made their stay in Warri comfortable and memorable.
He added that the ideals of Arewa Day and Awards are hinged on the virtues of ethno-religious cum socio-cultural mutual tolerance, as the foundation for national peace, unity, and prosperity.

In his comments, Safiyanu Hamisu, Vice Chairman, Hausa Quarter, Warri said that Arewa Day celebration is also referred to as Arewa Festival , is a day set aside to celebrate the culture, creativity, and entrepreneurship of Northern Nigeria across 19 states of the Federation.
He said that the day will now be celebrated in Warri annually like other parts of the country, he, on behalf of the Arewa Community in Warri expressed appreciation to Rt. Hon. Ereyitomi for his contributions towards the well being of Arewa Community and making the event memorable .
Others who spoke included the Director General of Arewa Community Development Support, Mohammed Mecadulawa and Mr. Vincent Uduaghan, former civil Commissioner in Delta State, they congratulated Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, the Madugu of Arewa Warri and Environ ,stressing that he deserved the title following his support to the Arewa community.
The Arewa Day celebration featured Wasan Koroso performance, launching, cutting of cake amongst others.
Dignitaries present at the maiden Arewa Day celebration included a representative of the Olu of Warri Ogiame Atuwatse III , Chief Wilson Olley , former member representing Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency, Hon Efe Afe , Chief Vincent Okudolor Asiwaju Sola Adebayo, a renowned Media Consultant and Farmer amongst others.
