Press Week NUJ, NMA Play Thrilling 1–1 Draw In Novelty Football Match

Day four of the ongoing NUJ Press Week in Asaba delivered an exciting spectacle as members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) clashed with the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in a highly entertaining novelty football match held at the NTA Asaba field.
The atmosphere was light, vibrant, and filled with friendly rivalry as both teams battled for bragging rights. The NMA team struck first in the opening half, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to take the lead. But the NUJ squad came back stronger in the second half, mounting pressure and eventually finding the equalizer through a well-taken finish.

Despite several late attempts from both sides to seal a victory, the match ended in a balanced 1–1 draw, with spectators applauding the sportsmanship, teamwork, and energy displayed throughout the game.
The novelty match added fun and camaraderie to the week-long celebration, reinforcing the bond between media practitioners and medical professionals while promoting fitness and unity.
